A well designed dining area can not only enhance a special occasion, but it can make any casual dinner feel like a celebration. Today, our celebration continues for Project cooper & ella with the dining room reveal. Adjacent to the living room, Kara and Adam were looking to freshen up this space and create a room for entertaining using their existing furniture and lighting. The original red dining room did not match their personal style and they were ready for a change. With a few simple updates and a brighter neutral color palette, this room received a dramatic makeover.
Paint is the least expensive but the most dramatic way to update a room. We removed the dark red walls and lightened the space with a fresh coat of paint in a neutral gray. The dining room was instantly transformed. We installed the same classic woodwork found in the living room to maintain a cohesive look between the two rooms. A printed rug added warmth to the natural hardwood floors and gave the space a splash of color. A new sideboard was added for storage and a gold glass console table, which functions as a bar, completed the furniture grouping. Finally, we customized the dining table with a fresh modern table setting and artfully selected accents to finish the overall look.
