A big welcome to anyone who is visiting from my lovely friend, Tamara at Citrine Living. I just love her style and I am sure your head is spinning with so many creative ideas from her beautiful blog. If you are a regular around here, I hope you are ready for some fabulous inspiration as I join 17 talented bloggers today for a Mother’s Day Table Tour hosted by my sweet friends, Kelley (Kelley Nan) and Randi (Randi Garrett Design).
It’s hard to believe that Mother’s Day is quickly approaching. Are you ready to break out your prettiest dishes, set the table and host an unforgettable celebration honoring moms, daughters, grandmas, aunts and all those special ladies in your life? I know I am!
One of my favorite spaces to decorate is the dining room and tablescapes are especially fun because I can easily transform this neutral space into a casual dinner party or a festive holiday celebration using any color of the rainbow. Since Mother Nature has finally brought some beautiful weather to the east coast, I can now enjoy a garden full of gorgeous greenery and fresh spring blooms. When planning my tablescape, I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Mom than bringing the outdoors in and setting a garden inspired table. I filled this beautiful table with pretty spring florals, natural textures, colorful details and shimmering metallic accents. A color palette in rich hues of purple and green immediately brightens up my space creating a unique look for this midday soiree.

Layering an eclectic mix of materials is key in building a great tablescape. I started with a ivory jute table runner from Pottery Barn in the center of my dark toned wood table. I love the natural edges and textural feel of this material. I always look for something tall to take center stage on all my tables and this gold plate stand was the perfect choice for not only as a centerpiece, but also as a perfect place to hold all sorts of delectable goodies for this special event. Dual purple plants in rustic pots flank the sides of my plate stand and add a bright punch of color to complete the look.
Next, I repurposed my green leaf placements that I used as a runner for my Easter table (seen here) to ground my place settings. HomeGoods always has an wide array of spring dinnerware this time of year and I was happy to come across an assortment of garden inspired items on a recent shopping trip including the purple glassware and floral plates. The mix of colors in these flower patterned dishes keep the place setting fun and interesting while simple green and white napkins accented with a shiny metallic napkin ring provided the finishing touch. Enjoy!
