Happy Holidays from my family to yours!
Wishing you a season filled with warm moments and cherished memories.
May 2017 bring you much love and happiness.
I have worked on numerous design projects throughout my career…from full kitchen renovations and master bedroom makeovers to entire first floors and complete basement remodels. But for the past few months, my three kids were constantly walking into my office with the same question over and over again…”Are you working on my room yet?” With a busy family life and a growing design business, my answer was always the same…soon!
A big welcome to anyone who is visiting from my lovely friend, Tamara at Citrine Living. I just love her style and I am sure your head is spinning with so many creative ideas from her beautiful blog. If you are a regular around here, I hope you are ready for some fabulous inspiration as I join 17 talented bloggers today for a Mother’s Day Table Tour hosted by my sweet friends, Kelley (Kelley Nan) and Randi (Randi Garrett Design).
It’s a fresh new season and I love seasonal decorating. Although spring hasn’t quite made its way here on Long Island, I am ready for longer days, putting on sundresses and sandals and enjoying happy, sunny gatherings. So whether you’re spending an afternoon with friends or preparing a scrumptious Mother’s Day brunch, a spring time celebration is always welcoming.
Happy Spring! Can you believe Easter is this weekend? This holiday pretty much snuck up on me but I am happy to put winter behind me and welcome the bright and refreshing colors that spring has to offer. Most of you know that I am a neutral décor lover but prior to our renovation, these dining room walls were a bold dark red and often difficult to decorate for the warm weather seasons. What a difference paint can make! Having a neutral space opens up so many opportunities to bring in fresh pops of beautiful color. I especially love decorating this room around holiday time.
The kitchen is the heart of the home and a modern farmhouse kitchen is one of my favorite styles. I love the mix of creamy white cabinets and natural woods and textures. This style exudes a warm and comforting feeling that says…”Come in and stay for a while”. Here’s a look at some of my favorite modern farmhouse kitchen spaces along with a round up of my top picks for linen and wood counter stools that work perfectly with this style.

New York City is one of my favorite places in the world. I consider myself lucky to have had the experience of going to school at the New York School of Interior Design, as well as living and working in this big city for 12 years. I think it’s true what they say…”if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere”. There are so many things to do, places to see and eat, and people to visit. Although I am currently living in the suburbs of Long Island, this beautiful city is just a train ride away. I travel to New York City as often as possible and I am excited to start a new series “NYC” on the blog where I will share some of my favorite places in the big apple. Today I will be starting with one of my favorite shops, One King Lane. [Read more…]
Lately, I have been receiving a lot of questions about my living room coffee table. When I first started designing this space I knew exactly what I was looking for…a table that was rectangular in shape, a dark wood top to add natural contrast to my neutral space and a contemporary look with rustic elements. I narrowed it down to a few select pieces and ultimately chose the Riverside Camden Towne Coffee Table from Wayfair but I thought I would share my other contenders with a wood coffee table roundup. If you are in the market for a new wood coffee table, you will love my top five picks. [Read more…]
